Hi my name is Amanda and I am a 37 year old mother, wife, sister, and photographer. I was born in Bloomington Indiana and raised in the next small town over, Ellettsville. I am in love with Bloomington. All of the activities, people, and beauty astound me. I was lucky enough to meet my incredible husband when I was a freshman in high school, however we were not friends until I was a junior, did not start dating until I was in college and did not get married until I finished college. We have known each other for quite a while! We have been blessed with two amazing boys, Noah and Jude. I am fortunate to have my entire side of the family living in or around Bloomington. I do wish my in-laws where still here too, they are great!
I have always been interested in art. I think I took more art classes in school than math. Please do not ask me to do any math! I loved to draw and paint, but it was never something I became great at. Throughout my childhood and teen years I took so many photos that I have boxes full of memories. When my oldest child was born his every move was photographed. I started to feel passionate about every aspect of photography. I became obsessed with learning about all the areas of photography. I spent countless hours reading, watching tutorials, and most importantly practicing.
Amanda Field Photography has grown into an important part of my everyday life. I love waking up to messages of how touched someone was by their photographs. I feel honored to spend life’s special moments with you. I get to see high school seniors just stepping out on their own, couples madly in love and newly engaged, joyous wedding days, newborn babies and over the moon parents. This truly is a dream career.
Okay, and now just a couple random facts about me!
- I will do anything to avoid folding laundry.
- I am come to love baseball since my boys started playing.
- I now have 20 houseplants that I keep alive and that is an amazing triumph for me!
- I have a degree in Human Development and Family Studies and worked on the hospital psychiatric floor before having my first child.
Enough about me! I cannot wait to meet you!
